Backwards and Forwards
Denver Aerial Dance Collective is proud to present their fourth Fringe Festival world premier! The heavily soiled political landscape has inspired the artists of DADC to create an aerial dance show with its roots in the social strife and iconic music of mid-century America. Stemming from their furious desire for universal human rights, the works presented in Backwards and Forwards branch into themes of reproductive freedom, immigrant pride, and injustice within our society.
Through breathtaking aerial dance and evocative music, DADC connects the political struggles of past and present-day issues. Backwards and Forwards approaches history not as a linear progression but as a cyclical phenomenon where old issues are re-emerging once again, threatening the progress towards equality and freedom for all. The artists of DADC invite their Denver community to come together and remember that these hard-won freedoms must be nurtured, lest we lose them forever.
All performances will take place at Cleo Parker Robinson Dance as part of the Denver Fringe Festival.
